R33 4.2L V8
The R33 Stradale by Automotive Artisans
The R33 Stradale is not simply a car; it is the result of an uncompromising belief that the art of coachbuilding still matters. Conceived and built entirely in-house by Automotive Artisans in the United Kingdom, it represents a rare fusion of traditional craftsmanship and modern engineering intelligence. Every aluminium panel is hand-formed by skilled craftsmen using time-honoured techniques, shaped over bespoke bucks created specifically for this project. Nothing is outsourced. Nothing is rushed. Every detail exists because it deserves to.
While the R33 draws inspiration from one of the most revered automotive designs of the 1960s, it is not a recreation. It is a contemporary interpretation — engineered with modern materials, refined tolerances, and subtle technical advancements that improve safety, robustness, and usability without compromising the purity of the original concept. Each commission is a deeply personal journey, where owners are encouraged to visit the workshop, witness their car take shape, engage with the artisans building it, and influence the smallest details along the way. Seating position, pedal layout, steering geometry, materials, and finishes are all tailored to the individual.
Production is strictly limited to 33 cars worldwide, and as with the handful of originals that inspired it, each R33 will develop its own identity, story, and place in history. Ownership is not about possession alone; it is about becoming part of a small and like-minded family — 33 individuals united by an appreciation for mechanical honesty, beauty, and restraint. The relationship formed between car, maker, and owner is central to the R33’s ethos; it is not a product but a collaboration shaped by shared values.
To drive the R33 is to experience something increasingly rare. There is no digital artifice, no exaggerated aggression, no need to shout — only balance, tactility, and a sense of occasion that begins the moment you sit inside. Every journey feels special. Every mile feels earned. It is old-school class in its purest, most satisfying form: elegant, understated, and beautifully honest. In a world of excess and spectacle, the R33 stands apart. It does not try to impress. It simply is.

A Modern Homage to the 1968 Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 Stradale
The R33 Stradale is performance in its purest form — a naturally aspirated V8 delivering response, balance, and feel without digital filters or theatrics. Every input is met with honesty, every journey defined by tactility rather than technology. It’s a car that rewards understanding, inviting the driver to connect with the road in a way modern performance machines often forget.
What makes the R33 truly special is the craft behind it. Each aluminium panel is shaped by hand over bespoke bucks, formed by artisans who work by eye and touch rather than automation. These surfaces aren’t stamped; they’re sculpted. The lines, the subtle transitions, the way light moves across the body — it all speaks to a level of human involvement that has nearly disappeared from contemporary car building.
The build itself is a personal journey. Owners visit the workshop, meet the craftsmen, and influence the smallest details: seating position, pedal feel, steering geometry, materials, finishes. The result is not just a car, but a relationship shaped with intention. And when the R33 finally takes to the road, it feels timeless — elegant, analogue, and quietly confident. A reminder that true connection is built by hand, not mass-produced.

With no ABS, traction control, or power steering, the car prioritises mechanical feel and driver engagement. Measuring just under four metres long and less than one metre tall, the R33 captures the spirit of 1960s Italian racing design while delivering modern reliability and performance in an ultra-exclusive coachbuilt package.

The Details
The Automotive Artisans R33 Stradale, coachbuilt by Pristine Panel Work, is a lightweight, hand-crafted homage to the legendary Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale. Built in the UK and limited to just 33 examples, it combines traditional coachbuilding with modern engineering. The car features hand-formed aluminium body panels over a steel chassis, butterfly doors, and a rear mid-engine layout. Power comes from the Ferrari-derived F136 4.2-litre naturally aspirated V8, producing around 376 bhp, paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox using Porsche 997 internals and sending power to the rear wheels.
